Yet another beautiful collection from Topshop Unique! I know its heartbreaking to look at, but console yourselves with the fact that some of these pieces will be available right here in our very own Topshop SA store! Unfortunately we do have to wait for Winter 14, but until then start making your wishlist already! Top of my list is that pale blue boxy biker jacket, and those lilac baggy cropped trousers. One day you will be mine.

It’s an outdoor art installation in Portugal called Floating Umbrellas, where hundreds of multicolored umbrellas appear to be floating in the sky. Apparently it is an initiative by the council in Agueda, Portugal and is a part of an art festival called Agitagueda.

Isn’t it attractive? It makes me very happy indeed.

Until then fashionistas…
One of my favourite fashion apps of the year has to be Fashion Kaleidoscope. Fashion Kaleidoscope – available for iPhone, iPad and Android devices – is a free app with beautiful, cascading, key fashion looks, trends and styles. On opening the app, users encounter a collage of photographs of key fashion looks. Every image can be clicked on, which will then open the image up for better viewing and allow users to shop the look in just a few clicks. The genius of this app is that users can navigate to fashion styles that they like and instantly find out where to shop the look and what expense they’ll be in for.
While, at the time of writing, the shopping functionality only appears to be useful if you are based in the USA or Europe (some stores don’t ship internationally), it is a great way for South African users to save and share key looks and get inspiration of what to wear, how to wear it and what to specifically look out for in stores to complete the look. The app is extremely addictive, it will make you want to fire up a Pinterest account if you don’t already have one, and it is updated regularly with numerous new looks and images.
Try the live demo of the app over here.
The app feels lightweight and doesn’t bog down your phone’s performance. As it is an image rich (in fact, it basically only features images), it is advised that the app is used by users with access to 3G or Wifi.

When pulled-off well, leather can look hot and fabulous. However, leather is not without its fashion dangers. Poor fitting and badly paired leather can lead to a fashion nightmare and result in stares for all the wrong reasons. In my opinion, the key to getting the leather look right is knowing when to wear it, understanding how leather accents your body’s contours, how you can pair it with other items of clothing and whether or not you have got your bases right – body tone, skin tone, make up etc.
To help you with some leather inspo, here are some great looks of celebs looking hot in leather:
No, you did not read that headline incorrectly. Coca Cola – the beverage company and the makers of that delicious fizzy drink (which I actually happen to be drinking right now) – has launched a fashion line which it showcased at Fashion Rio. The line is a Spring/Summer 2013 collection. Bizarre? Yes.
It may surprise some to note that this isn’t the first time that Coca Cola has tried to make inroads into the world of fashion. According to The Daily Mail, it all began in 2008, when Coca Cola launched its debut collection which was met with much criticism. As the news is spreading of Coca Cola’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection, the response now does not appear to be much different. For the most part, critics are confused and don’t understand the message or meaning behind what Coke is trying to do here. In fairness, it does seem like a bit of a strange industry for Coca Cola to step into…
While some are confused, others are just plain annoyed. Having a big, multinational corporation try their hand at what some perceive to be an art form is causing a fair amount of discontent and outrage. McDonalds Haute Couture anyone?
